Renewi<\/strong><b><\/b><\/h2><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.renewi.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Renewi<\/a>, a Belgian company with over 6,000 employees and nearly 200 operational sites across Europe, is <b>one of the key players in waste management in the Benelux region<\/b>. It was formed through the merger of Shanks Group plc and Van Gansewinkel Groep BV, headquartered in Buckinghamshire, UK.<\/p><p>When the customer, Renewi, contacted Matec, their requirement was to <b>renew the sand washing line<\/b> in the Mont-Saint Guibert quarry in Belgium. This quarry, one of the oldest in Europe, was acquired by Renewi&#8217;s Valorisation &amp; Quarry division, responsible for <b>producing and enhancing sands for construction and glass industries<\/b>. The original washing line produced 200-250 kT\/year of certified washed sand according to BENOR construction standards. Due to the outdated plant, intervention was necessary to <b>improve production capacity<\/b> and the <b>quality of the final product<\/b>.<\/p><p>The new plant had to <b>ensure a production of 150 tons\/hour of washed sand<\/b>, with a focus on <b>minimizing water<\/b>, <b>energy<\/b>, and <b>consumable material consumption<\/b>. Doson regularly takes samples of sludge, analyzes them in a closed chamber using electronic sensors, and <b>adjusts the flocculant powder quantity based on the settling speed of solid material in the reference sample<\/b>.<\/p><p>This system offer a <b>double advantage<\/b>, ensuring up to <b>30% savings in flocculant usage<\/b> and <b>optimal settling by matching the perfect dilution quantity<\/b> based on the solid\u2019s percentage in the treated sludge.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-35dbd43 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"35dbd43\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-no\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-da84695\" data-id=\"da84695\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fbb745b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fbb745b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><strong>Matec&#8217;s solution for Renewi plant<\/strong><\/h2><p>Renewi needed a <b>high-quality final product<\/b> with an easy-to-use plant while keeping total operating costs under control. Matec proposed a comprehensive <b>Aggretec 150 treatment system, the core of the treatment and washing plant<\/b>, coupled with a <b>complete waste water treatment system<\/b>.<\/p><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.matecindustries.com\/en\/aggretec-semi-mobile-screening-washing-selection-aggregates\/\">Aggretec<\/a> system comprises a <b>30 m\u00b3 loading hopper<\/b>, a <b>2-deck vibrating screen (Screentec)<\/b>, and a <b>Sandtec sand washing system with a capacity of 200 t\/h and two 650mm stainless steel hydrocyclones<\/b>, producing <b>two types of clean sand at the output<\/b>.<\/p><p>The filtration unit provided by Matec to Renewi consists of a <b>clarified water tank<\/b>, <b>sludge tank<\/b>, and a <b>Bifloc flocculant preparation station<\/b> equipped with the automatic dosing system <b>Doson<\/b>.<\/p><p>At the center of the plant is our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.matecindustries.com\/en\/filter-press\/\">filter press<\/a>, an <b>Ignis 1300&#215;1300 &#8211; 80 plates chamber 25<\/b>, a <b>TT2 Fast quick-opening system<\/b>, supported by a feeding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alfapompe.it\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alfa pump<\/a> and a 5,000-liter <b>homogenization tank<\/b>.<\/p><p>Completing the plant are a 90,000-liter <b>clear water tank<\/b> and a 200,000-liter <b>vertical stainless steel thickener<\/b> for sludge storage.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-bb007d1 elementor-section-content-middle elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"bb007d1\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-no\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-d6e3163\" data-id=\"d6e3163\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-103f234 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"103f234\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2><strong>Result achieved in Renewi plant<\/strong><\/h2><p>Matec successfully met the customer&#8217;s needs, <b>achieving set objectives and transforming their waste material into a valuable resource<\/b>.
