AGGREGATES, SAND AND GRAVEL
Aggregates, Sand and Gravel, due to their applications need to be washed to recover the fine material and remove the sludge that remains attached to their surface. Usually, the water used to wash the sand can be recycled through the use of settling lakes where the heavier particles end up at the bottom to be recovered and stored.
The recovery and storage of these materials, which must then be disposed of using excavators, trucks and personnel, have significant costs for the aggregates, sand and gravel industry, due in part to the fact that a large area must be dedicated to these operations.
The Matec filter press provides the opportunity to eliminate settling lakes and produce dry lumps that are easy to store and dispose of, and it also recovers used water quickly and efficiently, a valuable resource in areas with scarce water reserves.
